A MAN has been ordered to pay back hundreds of pounds worth of fines dating back to 2010.
Jason Adams, 30, accumulated £437.40 in fines for various driving offences and failing to comply with a Child Support Agency requirement.
He appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on Monday where he offered to pay back the enormous sum at £10 per week, which the bench accepted.
Adams, of Lawrence Close, Swindon, told magistrates that the fine had simply slipped his mind because he had other bills to pay - including his telephone bill - but said his dad would now step in to help him pay the money back.
"If you breach this promise you are opening yourself up to custody," chairman of the bench David Whetham told him.
The first payment of £10 must be made within 14 days.
