TEENAGE wildlife photographer Harry King has won camera club's Picture of the Month title for October and £50 in Love2Shop vouchers.
Harry, 15, lives in Freshbrook and goes to St Johns, Marlborough.
He's no stranger to success having won a place in a glossy book of winners of the prestigious British Wildlife Photography Awards last year.
Judges thought so much of his stunning snap of a short-eared owl that they included it in their glossy book and gave him a “special mention” commendation.
Harry, who has been taking photographs since he was seven, said: "I think the camera club is brilliant, a great opportunity for less experienced photographers and good for anyone looking to enter amateur competitions build experience and learn about photography.
"It's also great for new ideas, looking at others photos and meeting new people.
"There is a lovely Facebook page and group full of some beautiful photos and it's brilliant when new people join and send photos in."
It took over two months of thinking and planning for Harry to get the perfect picture.
"I had been watching barn owls from a large distance come and go from a tree and realised if I had the perfect light I could put a -4 exposure on, as a bright lit-up white subject like the barn owl would show but the background wouldn’t.
"So I set up a for few nights far away under my camo netting hide in a spot where it would fly straight towards me.
"After a week I got the perfect shot - when I got home and saw it on the computer I was absolutely over the moon!"
He used a 600mm lens at shutter speed 1,250, iso 600, f6.3 and manual white balance as well as -4 exposure to get the amazing shot.
Harry hopes one day to work with wildlife. More of his pictures can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/harrys_wildlife_photography
