FORMER Robins player Willie Penman has died, it is understood.
The Swindon Town midfielder made 104 appearances for the club between 1966 and 1970, scoring 22 goals over four seasons.
Penman, who came to Swindon from Newcastle United for a transfer fee of £10,000, passed away aged 78, his former club Walsall FC said.
In a statement posted online, Walsall FC said: “The thoughts of everyone at Walsall Football Club are with his family and friends at this sad time.”
Penman was also involved with Rangers, Cheltenham Town and US side Seattle Sounders.
