EMERGENCY services were called to this morning's Swindon Parkrun after a runner had a medical episode just 500m from the starting line.
It is understood two ambulances, a rapid response car and three police units attended the weekly run at Lydiard Park just after 9am.
It is not yet known the condition of the runner but one person reported that it is believed they had a heart attack.
Organisers of the Swindon Parkrun have since put this statement on Twitter:
This morning one of our runners had a medical issue which required the attendance of the emergency services. We would obviously like to thank them and the runners and volunteers who assisted during the incident.

2of2 At this moment in time we have no further news about the runner and we would ask people not to speculate on social media as there may be relatives not yet notified. Thanks for your help and when we know more we will post an update if we are able to.
