QUEEN'S Park has been cordoned off by police following a robbery.
Officers were called to the park earlier this morning and it is understood that all entrances have been sealed off to the public.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: "Officers are carrying out enquiries as part of an investigation into a robbery. The park has been sealed off as part of this investigation during this time to allow some searching to take place."
Police cars are guarding the gates to the park from Drove Road and a sign put up by Swindon Borough Council says: "We have been instructed by Wiltshire Police that this park must stay locked today as police are carrying out some investigation.
"Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
"For more inquiries, please ring Swindon Borough Council security on 01793 464703."
Specialist officers from Tri-Force were this afternoon seen with sniffer dogs outside the park.
Queen's Park remains closed, with Wiltshire Police officers guarding the padlocked entrance gates.
