Primary schools from across Swindon will go head-to-head in a debating competition on Monday.
The White Horse Federation Debating Cup, involving seven Swindon schools and two from outside the town, will take place at Swindon Borough Council's Civic Offices, and aims to empower the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow.
The Swindon schools involved are Drove Primary School, The Croft Primary School, Haydon Wick Primary School, Moredon Primary, Tregoze Primary School, Rodbourne Cheney Primary School and Gorse Hill Primary School.
In total, over 60 pupils from the multi-academy trust will be taking part.
They will compete against the Zouch Academy in Tidworth and Southwold Primary School in North Oxfordshire.
The White Horse Federation encourages all of their schools to come together and collaborate through a number of events, throughout the academic year.
This is the first time the multi-academy trust has held a debating challenge, taking place in collaboration with award-winning charity 'Debate Mate'.
Debate Mate is a unique, international educational charity dedicated to improving social mobility using cost-effective peer-to-peer debate mentoring.
The contest will begin at 1.30pm, with a competitive final debate in the council chambers, with council members present.
Awards and prizegiving will then follow.
