A WOMAN suspected of stealing from a wheelchair user is among Swindon’s six most wanted.

Wiltshire Police has handed over mugshots to the Swindon Advertiser of the half dozen suspects at the top of their most wanted lists.

They include Brian Bingham, 24, suspected of committing several thefts, and Kyle Moroney, 20, who breached a court order.

Police want the public’s help to bring their top suspects before the courts.
Supt Adrian Burt, Wiltshire Police’s commander for the Swindon area, said: “We are committed to bringing to justice those responsible for crime as quickly as possible and I see this campaign as a great way to help achieve this. 

“At the heart of every crime there are victims and witnesses who are affected and our aim is to make the justice process as speedy and smooth as possible.

“Some of the wanted suspects we are issuing appeals for have committed crimes that really affect our communities, such as burglary. Crimes like this have a long-lasting impact on victims and it is absolutely right these offenders should be brought to justice.”

The latest campaign follows a similar bid by Wiltshire Police over the winter. That saw 22 suspects whose pictures were shared either come forward of their own accord or captured by police.

Supt Burt said the success of the campaign meant he could focus more of his officers’ time on other issues of concern for Swindon residents, including anti-social behaviour, burglaries and car break-ins. 

“A disproportionate amount of police time is spent trying to locate suspects who don’t want to be found,” said the police officer of 27 years’ experience. “My aim is to work with the community to find these individuals more efficiently and use the time and resource saved to reinvest into community priorities.”

Supt Burt, who was inspired to join the police after his brother became one of the Met’s youngest constables, added: “We want the public to take a proactive role in how their communities are policed by acting as our eyes and ears.”

Police say anyone who spots a suspect should call 101, rather than approach the wanted person. Information can also be reported anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.

Offence: Wanted on warrant by Swindon Magistrates Court since March for breaching a community order.

Jacob Rodney, wanted in relation to a theft, has been arrested and released under investigation.

Louis Webb, wanted in relation to an assault, has handed himself in to police.

Richard Godden, wanted in relation to multiple thefts, has been arrested by police.

Limara Crewe, wanted on theft offences, has been arrested.
