A PENSIONER was knocked to the ground by a robber who stole her purse.
Police are investigating the mugging, which took place outside shops in Sussex Place, Walcot, on Thursday at 8.40am.
A woman in her 70s was hit by a woman who stole her bag, containing a purse and a small amount of cash. The victim injured her wrist and elbow in the robbery and was taken to hospital.
A spokeswoman for Wiltshire Police said: "An area search was carried out and the purse was located but the offender wasn’t. Enquiries remain ongoing.
"The offender is described as aged in her early 20s with long blonde hair. She was wearing a black or green jacket, jeans and trainers."
