Three men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary by officers out on early-morning patrol in Swindon.
At 12.30am today, officers in Lincoln Street, near Queen’s Park, spotted three men in dark clothing carrying bags.
As they approached them, one ran off but the others were stopped.
One told police that he was about to ring them as he had found all the items abandoned in the street.
Officers searched the man and found a screwdriver, and seized a number of games consoles.
Officers then went to an address in Groundwell Road and found another bag containing more games consoles.
While they were at the property another man made themselves known to officers and he was arrested.
An 18-year-old from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon, going equipped for theft, theft and burglary.
Two 19-year-olds, both from Swindon, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
All three remain in custody at Gablecross Police Station.
Further enquiries led police to a business premises in Theatre Square, Swindon, which had been broken into earlier in the night.
