A COUPLE from North Swindon spent a memorable morning with Zoe Ball live in the studio of her Radio 2 Breakfast Show.
Regular listeners Amanda and Paul Morris were overjoyed when they won the chance to go behind-the-scenes and watch as Zoe chatted to Alan Carr, Sandi Toksvig and singer Gabrielle.
Amanda bagged the once-in-a-lifetime prize after entering a showbiz quiz on Thursday, her 40th birthday. She said: "I thought it was a good excuse to dial in for the first time and talk to Zoe, but I was surprised when I won, My husband was in the car with me and we were both really excited.
"This was a present that I didn't ask for or expect but it was the best present ever and I will never forget my 40th.
"The day after the quiz, we were listening to Gabrielle warm up in the green room, which was amazing, and though I was nervous when I got there everyone was so welcoming that I felt really at ease.
"It was a fantastic experience, Zoe gave us lots of hugs and I got to ask Alan Carr questions on-air, he's even funnier in person than when you're listening to him because you can see all his facial expressions.
"Seeing how everything worked was fascinating, there's a lot of hustle and bustle with people rushing in and out of the studio constantly and though there's a lot of planning, a lot of it is made up on the fly yet it all works seamlessly.
"My family and friends and friends of friends were all listening in. I thought nothing could beat Chris Evans but Zoe's doing a pretty good job."
