A HORRIFIED mum says she is disgusted after her 15-year-old daughter found a stash of heroin and coke left behind by a painter.
A tobacco pouch containing a cocktail of white powders and wraps of heroin was left behind by a council contractor who had come to paint the family’s kitchen in Walcot.
The stash, which included a bag bearing the cannabis symbol, was left inside a cupboard and its illegal contents were only revealed when their teenage daughter opened it.
Mum Claire Bailey told the Advertiser the girl was visiting when she made the shocking discovery.
“She opened it up and there it was, all these drugs. I was shocked. Straight away I phoned the police.
“It’s disgusting, it was pretty scary to find all this heroin and coke in there. We were all shocked.
“It was a good job we were here because you know what kids are like these days.”
Husband Ricky added: “I was gobsmacked. My grandson could have quite easily opened the cupboard.
“There were several rocks of brown powder, must have been a good hundred quid of it there - I definitely don’t want heroin in my house!
“How do you employ someone who is going to bring drugs into your home?”
“He put it in one of the cupboards but obviously forgot to take it with him at the end of the day.
“I think the police have been taking fingerprints,” added Mr Bailey.
The unknown man was supposed to come back the following day to do some more work in the kitchen but didn’t return.
Police say they are investigating to try and find the culprit.

A spokeswoman from Wiltshire Police said: “We can confirm that we attended an address in Somerville Road, Swindon following a call from the resident on 11 February.
“A tobacco pouch had been discovered by the resident which contained what are believed to be class A drugs cocaine and heroin.
“We ask that anyone who has information about this incident calls us on 101 quoting crime reference number 54190014272 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111”
The council also said it was investigating the matter with the contractor to see how it could have happened.
A Swindon Borough Council spokesman said: “We are shocked by our tenant’s discovery and have taken it up with our contractor.
“It would be inappropriate for us to comment further while the police continue their investigations into the incident.”
