SWINDON: Alonza Fallon, 36, of Ashford Road, Kingshill was jailed for 17 weeks after he breached a community order and carried out a series of thefts.
Swindon magistrates said the reason was his wilful and persistent failure to comply with the order, which had been imposed just weeks before.
The court heard Fallon’s original sentence on February 7 followed two offences of theft and one of going equipped.
Just over a week later he stole toiletries valued at £56 from Wilkinsons, then on February 8 he swiped a £50 drill from the same store. On February 24 he took £31 of meat from Sainsbury’s and on February 27 he returned to take more meat valued at £43. He pleaded guilty to all four charges and was instructed to pay a total of £137 compensation.
SWINDON: Shane Butler, 30, of Chippenham Walk was told he must do 100 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman.
The magistrates made him the subject of a community order for 12 months and imposed prosecution costs of £85 along with an £85 contribution towards victim services.
SWINDON: Steen Newton, 32, was given 120 hours of unpaid work for damaging an Xbox controller and a TV belonging to a woman.
The defendant, who gave a care of address in Courtney Road, admitted the charge and was given a 12-month community order and 24 rehabilitation activity days. The magistrates told him to pay a total of £170 in victim surcharge and court costs.
HIGHWORTH: Richard Pegler, 42, of Orange Close, Highworth must complete a building better relationships course and do 120 hours of unpaid work for assaulting a woman.
The work was imposed by Swindon magistrates as part of an 18-month community order. Pegler pleaded guilty to carrying out the assault on February 10 and was told to pay £170 towards victim services and court costs.
SWINDON: Simon Smith, who assaulted the same woman twice, was given a £248 fine and put on a 12-month community order.
Smith, 41, of Thorn Road, Eldene, admitted carrying out the assaults on August 12 and November 3 last year. Swindon magistrates ordered him to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.
PARK SOUTH: Mark Sparkes, 44, of Denholme Road, has to do 120 hours of unpaid work for sending a woman harassing emails and turning up at her home.
Sparkes pleaded guilty to harassing the victim between January 8 and 13.
Swindon magistrates made a restraining order banning him from contacting her directly or indirectly and from going to her street. He must also undergo 20 days of rehabilitation activity as part of a 12-month community order.
BROAD HINTON: Jale Waqabaca, 31, of The Croft, Swindon, was given a 12-week suspended prison sentence for an assault on a woman.
Swindon magistrates heard the incident happened in Broad Hinton on January 15. Waqabaca pleaded guilty was told he must comply with supervision requirements for 18 months and undergo a building better relationships course. The bench told him to pay £115 towards victim service and £85 court costs.
SWINDON: Muhammed Khan, 44, of Broad Street, was convicted of using threatening behaviour.
Khan, denied the allegation linked to an incident on May 6 last year, but was found guilty. Swindon magistrates fined him £250 and ordered him to pay £620 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service along with a £30 contribution towards victim services.
WROUGHTON: Christopher Goodall, 26 of Park Avenue, Chippenham, was banned from the roads for 14 months and told to do 250 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Goodall admitted charges of driving a VW Passat carelessly in Wroughton high street on December 1, failing to stop after an accident that injured a man and assaulting him.
Swindon magistrates heard he gave a breath test reading of 57mcg when the limit is 35. He was made the subject of a 12-month community order and instructed to pay £200 compensation with another £170 towards victim services and costs.
