DRUGS, electronic equipment and trainers have been seized following a raid in Swindon this morning.
Officers from the Swindon South Community Policing Team, supported by firearms officers and a dog handler, executed a S23 Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at an address in Galsworthy Close, in Liden, earlier today
Several mature cannabis plants have been seized, as well as dried prepared herbal cannabis, and officers also seized a significant amount of personal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act, including electronic equipment and trainers.
Equipment that had been used to grow the cannabis plants has been destroyed.
PC Jon Harwood, who is leading the investigation, said: "We know the local community are concerned about people producing cannabis and then dealing the drugs locally.
"I’m really pleased with the seizures we’ve made today as this issue has been causing a significant impact in the local area."
A/Inspector David Tippetts added: "We will always respond to information we receive from the community in regards to drug dealing.
"Where there is obvious financial gain in terms of personal property we will use the powers available to us under the Proceeds of Crime Act to seize and retain these items as evidence of criminal activity."
