OUR most remarkable story this week a dozen years ago was easily that of Ray Bowen.
Returning to the area for a holiday after 38 years in Australia, he decided to visit his childhood home in Purton.
The owners invited him in and handed him a large commemorative medal they had found while remodelling.
It had been issued to honour Ray’s uncle, who died in World War One, and Ray had thought it lost more than 60 years earlier.
Other stories ranged from a girl donating her hair for a good cause to an unusual graffiti solution.
