We asked our readers where they would recommend for the best all-you-can-eat meal in Swindon. And here’s what you told us...

Swindon Advertiser:

The most popular recommendation, by far, was Rios Brazil.

Located on Bridge Street in the town centre, it has been open for seven years and has clearly gained a big following.

On Facebook Mike Jones said: “Rios is the best, by a long way.” Mark Keylock added: “Nothing comes close!”

The restaurant prides itself on being an authentic Brazilian steakhouse which serves its meat in a Rodizio style.

It offers a variety of meats including beef, lamb, chicken and pork which are all served at your table directly from the skewer.

Rios is open Tuesday to Sunday with varying opening times, boasts a 4.7 rating on Trip Advisor and the buffet costs £21.

Swindon Advertiser:

A close second in the recommendations was Swindon Rendezvous.

The oriental restaurant has had a variety of locations in the town centre but has now settled on Princes Street, next to the Wyvern Theatre.

On Facebook, Sue Skittrall said: “The food is always amazing. I’ve never had a poor meal.” James Huynh added: “Rendezvous is always the best in Swindon.”

On the website, Rendezvous says: “By modernising the execution and sometimes introducing some unexpected but carefully considered exciting flavour combinations, our dishes are designed to thrill your taste buds.”

A meal costs between £18 and £20 but deals are available.

Swindon Advertiser:

A Royal Wootton Bassett restaurant was also a popular choice among the suggestions.

Oriental Aroma is based on the High Street and is open 5pm to 10.30pm on Tuesday to Thursday but is then open 5pm to 4am Friday and Saturday.

The twist, and why it’s open so late, is because it doubles as a karaoke bar.

On Facebook, Kimberley Brewster said: “The food is second to none. The owner goes out of his way to create gorgeous, inspiring food and an amazing extensive vegan menu which vegans and non-vegans alike enjoy tremendously. Would 100 per cent recommend.”

The restaurant boasts a four star rating on Google reviews and has been open to the public since August 2005.

Swindon Advertiser:

YC Global Buffet in Linden Court in the town centre got plenty of mentions, however it was still unable to shake it’s old name.

Many readers claimed Cosmos to be one of the best places to go, but Global Buffet has not had that name since 2016.

It’s website states: “YC Global Buffet is one of a kind, located near to Swindon Railway station and town centre.

“We’re the only buffet restaurant that puts emphasis on great ingredient being freshly prepared using authentic recipes from the East to the West.”

It offers food from a wealth of locations including Inda, China, Japan, Malaysia and Thailand.

The restaurant boasts a four star rating on Trip Advisor with many people commenting on the variety of food that it offers.

Swindon Advertiser:

The Banquet at the top of Regent Street was given a mention by a couple of readers.

As recently as April of last year the establishment had a zero rating from the Food Standards Agency but has since managed to push that score up to three.

On Facebook, Ben Jennings claimed that the food at The Banquet was far better than that at Rendezvous and said he preferred the buffet style of an all-you-can-eat rather than being served at the table.

To have a take-away from the restaurant - admittedly this won’t be all-you-can-eat - only costs £5.

But if you’re sitting in then the prices will range from £7.50 to £9.50 and that's depending on what day of the week you are visiting.

Swindon Advertiser:

Old Town Thai was recommended by a few readers.

Located on Wood Street in Old Town, the restaurant also does collection and delivery as well as sit down meals.

On Facebook, Anna Gibson praised the “amazing food” from the eatery, but also threw out a mention to Rendezvous.

The restaurant is open six days a week and opens for both lunch and dinner.

On its website it says: “Ideally, eating Thai food is a communal affair involving two of more people, principally because the greater numbers of diners, the greater number of dishes to share.”

Sounds like this could be one to recommend next time the family get together.

Swindon Advertiser:

The final, but by no means last, recommendation is the Hongxin Oriental Buffet.

This can be found on Pepperbox Hill and is a landmark in it’s own right with the restaurant itself styled on traditional oriental design and overlooks the Peatmoor Lagoon.

Hongxin holds a five out of five rating on Just Eat and is open seven days a week.

Prices range from £7.50 to £13.90 pre adult depending on the day and time you go but you can get a takeaway box for just £5.50.

Children’s prices range from £5 to £7.50 with Under Two’s eating free. But if you aren’t eating and want to sit in, that will still set you back a fiver.
