AS coronavirus cases rise across the UK, organisers of a number of events in Swindon have taken steps to limit the spread of the disease.
One of the latest to cancel is the Euro Cafe, a weekly meeting which aims to support EU nationals who wish to remain in the UK after Brexit.
In a statement Swindon for Europe, which runs the event, said: “In view of the coronavirus, with great regret we have decided to postpone the Euro Cafe gatherings for the time being.
“We will start up again as soon as we can.
“In the meantime, please tell anyone you know, and if there is someone who needs support with a settled status application tell them to email us, and please all do keep in touch.”
Swindon Philosophical Society said it would not be going ahead with its meeting on Friday night.
The MFor Festival – due to take place on July 25 – confirmed it will be adding additional hygiene measures to the Lydiard Park event, including additional hand-washing facilities.
