Police have closed County Road in both directions from Elmina Road to Manchester Road.
Officers at the scene did not give the reason for the road closure but said there was no risk to the public.
Swindon Police said officers were responding to concerns about an individual, who is believed to be in one of the houses on the street.

A spokesman said: "You may well see an increased police presence in the area at this time but please do not be alarmed by this."
A fire officer from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service left the scene at around 9.25pm.
10.30pm: A man has been put into the back of a police van. County Road is now back open.
