It’s business as usual for Swindon’s House of Fraser after an 11th hour rent deal with the Brunel Shopping Centre.
The department store was due to close tomorrow, but the chain confirmed today it will stay open.
The new deal means that 58 jobs have been saved.
Manager Gareth Naffine said: "All redundancy talks will now be concluded and it's business as usual.
"Exciting times ahead for the store, the team and of course the town."
A closing down sale was on at the store but that has now ended.
It will be welcome news for the town centre which was facing the prospect of two large empty units in the Brunel by the end of the year.
The closure of Sainsbury's - the second big store to announce closure - is still set for November.
