WE’VE launched a new online community for fans of Swindon and its recent history.
From the Locarno’s heyday to shopping at McIlroy’s, working at Garrards or enjoying a drink at the Cock Robin, we’ll be dishing out a regular dose of nostalgia from our archives and sharing it with readers on our We Grew Up in Swindon Facebook page.
Places we knew and loved, fashions we'd rather forget, events that brought the town together and faces fondly remembered - we'll feature them all.
It will also be a place to share collective memories from the 70s, 80s, 90s or early 2000s and even ideas for future features, especially if you have pictures buried away in albums that haven't been opened in a few years.
We've already written about two of the town's much loved and lost hospitals, the world famous Renault Building and the days when RAF Lyneham was a hive of flying activity.
The day the railway works became a shopping centre was the subject of another feature.
You can join We Grew Up in Swindon here: facebook.com/groups/swindonnostalgia and if you've got memories of the town that you want to share with readers why not fill in our online questionnaire
