A CONVICTED domestic abuser has been fined after police found cocaine at his house when they went to speak to him in May.

Richard Pullen, 45, admitted possession of the class A drug at his home in Station Road, Royal Wootton Bassett, on May 7.

Prosecutor Kate Prince told Swindon Magistrates’ Court that officers had gone to the home as part of an investigation into an unrelated matter. A small bag of white powder was found on a coffee table.

Defending, Luke Jameson said his client could have been dealt with for the drugs possession charge in the summer, when he was charged then later jailed for assaulting his ex-partner. If the matter had been dealt with then it would have likely attracted no separate penalty.

Pullen was on universal credit and signed off work with health issues.

Magistrates fined him £120 and ordered he pay £77 in costs and surcharge.

In September, Pullen was jailed for 10 months after he admitted assaulting his former partner and a charge under the Malicious Communications Act.

He was said to have glassed the woman then refused to leave her flat, with police forced to break down the flat door and pepper spray a “pumped up” Pullen.

Within a week of being charged, Pullen left nine voicemails on his ex’s phone in a half hour period.
