This time a year ago the curtain had dropped on the traditional panto at the Wyvern Theatre and a new season of shows was on its way.
This year the auditorium was silent. The Covid pandemic devastated theatre programmes up and down the country through much of 2020 and when the second lockdown hit in November the Wyvern’s management decided to suspend all shows until the end of this month.
While we're waiting and hoping for performances to start again let's look at just a few memorable moments from the past, from pantos with big stars to shows by youngsters from the town.
New shows are already in the planning, including Waiting for Godot, Basil Brush, musicals, top comedians and this year's panto, Jack and the Beanstalk.
