THE funeral procession for BBC Wiltshire reporter Ashley Heath will stop outside its Old Town home so that people can safely pay their respects.

His widow Nancy told the Adver that the hearse will park outside the radio studios on Victoria Hill at 10.45am on February 16 following a private funeral at the North Wiltshire Crematorium.

She added: "I hope people remember him as a cheerful and lovely man who it was a pleasure to know. His whole personality was being a radio journalist, he loved his job.

"He was a consummate professional and a great laugh. He was friendly, kind, open and honest. He loved people and he loved Swindon and he leaves a bit of a hole.

"I met him at the Arts Centre in an am-dram Old Town Theatre company. For many years, he was the organiser of the Swindon One-Act Play Festival."

Ashley died on Monday January 25 at Prospect Hospice.
