FORENSICS officers are at the scene of a fire Park North fire.
A police cordon remains in place around the two-storey block of flats on Welcombe Avenue where, this morning, more than two dozen firefighters put out a fire in a first-floor flat.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service earlier said they were called at 10.13am to reports of the fire.
Four people and a dog were rescued from the building by fire crews using a ladder. Appliances from Swindon, Stratton, Westlea and Royal Wootton Bassett were called to the scene.
Wiltshire Police had shut Welcombe Avenue in both directions. Although that closure was lifted at around 1pm, a cordon remains in place around the flat.
Neither the police nor the fire service have said how the fire is believed to have started.
