Votes cast in the local elections today will not be counted overnight.
The counting will stretch over three days.
Votes cast in the Swindon Borough Council election will be verified straight after the polls close at 10pm – this is a technical process making sure the ballot papers match the number of votes tallied at polling station.

Counting in earnest will start at 10am tomorrow at Steam Museum. It will take longer than usual as there will be fewer counters to allow for distancing.
The Adver will be reporting live as results are announced – the result is expected at about 6.30pm.
Counts for the parish elections in Swindon will take place on Saturday, again at Steam.
The votes cast in Swindon today in the PCC election will be taken to Salisbury where the count for the entire county will take place on Monday. The result of that will be announced later that day.
