THE FRONTRUNNER in the county's police and crime commissioner elections won't be allowed to take on the job if he's voted in on Monday, it has been reported.

The BBC is reporting that Conservative candidate Jonathon Seed has been told by the party's headquarters he has been "disbarred" over an old conviction for drink driving.

A conviction for an imprisonable offence would disqualify someone from becoming Police and Crime Commissioner, according to the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011.
