A SWINDON-BASED IT solutions business has been named as a Top 100 UK Best Small Company to Work For.
Excalibur Communications made the list and received its Best Company accreditation for the fourth year in a row.
The accreditation scheme, formerly known as the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For, recognises organisations that prioritise employee engagement and work hard to make their business a great place to work and develop.
It is recognised as a benchmark of employee engagement within British business and reflects what employees are saying about their employers, workplace and environments.
The list-makers look at detailed data on company benefits policies, processes and facilities, and asks for the views of employees via a confidential survey which covers team leadership, management, personal growth, wellbeing, benefits and giving back.
Excalibur's survey results helped it reach 75th place in the list. Overall, 84 per cent of staff agreed with the statement 'I love working for this organisation', 82 per cent of staff agreed that they are happy with their work and home life balance, and 96 per cent agreed that the organisation has a strong social conscience.
CEO Peter Boucher said: "2020 to 2021 has been a particularly tough year to measure and manage staff engagement.
"The coronavirus lockdowns have of course affected the business, but more importantly impacted the wider Excalibur team across their professional and personal lives.
“We looked at ways of doing business differently while working remotely to minimise isolation and encourage team work, albeit on Teams. We introduced more regular one-to-ones between employees and line managers.
"There was remote fun to be had too via a number of online all company events including quizzes, a virtual wedding celebration and the distribution of a family half term hamper for Halloween.”
Excalibur’s goal is to become renowned for staff and customer engagement. In a bid to achieve this, it oversees initiatives like a health and wellbeing programme, an excellence award for high-achieving staff, charity support, and investment in leadership training.
