THIRTY years after a community garden was created in south Swindon volunteers have brought it back to its former glory.
South Swindon Parish Council supported by people living near Swindon Road has restored the Fishing For The Moon Gardens.
A spokesman said: “This time last year the garden was overgrown and looking very tired and the parish council stepped in to secure the garden wall, refurbish the benches, remove the weeds and plant new flowers so it can become a sensory garden.
“In due course a sign will be installed in the public garden highlighting when the garden was first built and the recent refurbishment work.”
The garden was originally created by Thamesdown Borough Council in 1991. A celebratory drink was held at the garden last week to toast the success of the project.
