A POWER cut stopped people living in a Wiltshire village from watching the big England game last night.
Around 27 neighbours in Minety experienced the electrical issue at around 5.30pm, just as the run-up to kick-off was about to get into full swing.
Most of those affected had their power back by 11.45pm - just in time to catch the winners' ceremony - while five others waited until 1.30am to have their supply restored.
Engineers from SSEN investigated the cause and carried out emergency repairs. They found a damaged underground cable and are looking into how it got damaged.
A SSEN spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise to our customers affected by yesterday’s power cut and thank them for their patience whilst our engineers worked safely and quickly to restore power.”
