A NEW survey has revealed the best and worst GP practices in Swindon according to patients.
Patients were invited to share their views on a wide range of topics, including making appointments with their doctor and accessing information.
Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Clinical Commission Group sent out 26,551 questionnaires, of which 12,684 were returned completed as part of the annual GP Patient Survey.
The findings are being used to identify potential improvements and highlight best practice.
While Cricklade Surgery was named the best surgery in Swindon with a satisfaction rating of 97 per cent, at the other end of the scale Park Lane Practice scored only 57 per cent.
In second place is Old Town Surgery with an overall approval rating of 96 per cent.
Overall, 87 per cent of respondents said they were satisfied with their experiences at their GP surgeries – above the national average of 83 per cent.
Five percent said they had a poor experience compared to seven per cent nationally.

Some patients are still struggling to contact GP surgeries on the phone, the survey also revealed.
This was mainly the case at Moredon Medical Centre, Abbey Meads Medical Practice and Park Lane Practice, according to the results.
