The family of David James, who lost his battle with prostate cancer, is hoping to send him off in style with a procession of classic cars at his funeral.
They are appealing for anyone who may be free on September 6 at around 12.45pm who owns a classic car like a Ford Sierra Cosworth or Cortina to get in touch.
David’s son Luke, 28 from Ferndale, explained: “My dad loved classic cars and would always take me to steam rallies to see as go and see them.
“I’d love to see as many as possible come to his funeral, so if anyone can make it please get in touch via email at lukecurtisjames@googlemail.com
Luke had set up a fundraising campaign to raise money to make his home as comfortable for his father as his father’s condition had deteriorated. But he died before the fundraising effort could finish.
The family is now trying to raise money for the funeral costs via a Facebook appeal.
“We’ve had a few people offer to come with their cars already, but we’d love as many as possible,” Luke added.
