PUPILS will reflect on the attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001, with one Swindon school planning to make 9/11 part of an event.
Teachers from Lawn Manor and Royal Wootton Bassett Academy shared their thoughts.
Marek Koza, assistant headteacher for achievement at Lawn Manor Academy, said: “In early October, we will be discussing 9/11 with students on our Personal Development Day, in their personal, health, social and economic education sessions, as part of our teaching of British values.”
Royal Wootton Bassett geography teacher David Storey said: “We will be acknowledging, remembering and discussing the 2001 terrorist attacks in our morning ilearn sessions at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy.
“It was an event which changed the world and had global ramifications.
“It happened before even our oldest students were born, so it is important that we remember it from a historical context.
“Many teachers have very interesting ‘I remember where I was stories” which they will be sharing with the students’.”
