New restaurant Pick Up Point opened in Old Town at the weekend.
The restaurant on Devizes Road had its grand opening to the public on Friday after throwing a launch event on Thursday.
Josh West - the mastermind behind the new restaurant and head chef - previously plied his trade at the nearby Hop pub but decided to have a go at starting his own restaurant.
Josh is quoted on the Pick Up Point website as saying: "I wanted to bring great food, and I mean really great food, to Swindon so here we are."
Josh told the Adver devising the menu for the restaurant would be a constant work in progress as he is always tinkering.
"It's a selective process, I'm always experimenting, the menu is likely to change hourly," he said.
"I had a steak on the menu, put it on the menu, tried it out, didn't think it was good enough, so took the steak off."
"I'm not focussed on local food, I just want to ge the best food in."
The Pick Up Point Facebook page carries a number of rave reviews chef Josh's time at The Hop
One said: "Best burger outside the USA I’ve had in years! Our five-year-old loved his one too."
Another added: "Best burger and fries I’ve had in town, super tasty and good prices will definitely be going back"
And a third said: "Josh’s food is a must try, there is always something interesting on the menu and his flavours are incredible. My personal favourites the Korean chicken wings and his bao buns."
The new restaurant is already proving popular, with bookings flooding in for the next few weeks.
