AMERICAN fast food joint Taco Bell’s upcoming Swindon restaurant is slowly but surely taking shape.

Contractors have been working on the store this week and external signage featuring the iconic logo and sleek purple and black colouring can now be seen.

A member of staff for the chain who was overseeing the building work said that they were looking to open the doors to customers on Tuesday, December 28.
The store was once a Game, but the video game franchise left the unit and moved to the upstairs floor of Sports Direct.

Swindon Borough Council has posted on social media about Taco Bell choosing to open a store in Swindon’s much-maligned town centre, saying it is a sign that global companies still have confidence in the area.

It said: “A global chain arriving in our town centre shows it is still a place businesses want to invest in.

“With most of the land and buildings in the town centre under private ownership, businesses are bringing forward plans to convert vacant shop units into new homes and venues where people can socialise and enjoy experiences.”
