A BOY arrested after a stabbing in broad daylight in Swindon town centre last week has been recalled to prison.
The 17-year-old boy had been arrested on suspicion of affray and suspicion of possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply.
Now, Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the boy arrested was interviewed and subsequently recalled to prison. A spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that enquiries remain ongoing.
Last Thursday’s incident saw shoppers look on in horror as a teenager was set upon by a number of youths. He was taken to hospital with a suspected knife wound, and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A woman in her 60s was also caught up in the incident and suffered minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.
Police were alerted after hearing about an altercation between two groups outside Foot Asylum in The Parade at 3.30pm. The victim was then chased to nearby JD Sports, where he was stabbed.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police has reassured the public that there is no wider danger and appealed for witnesses as the investigation continues. Anyone with information should call 101.
