A PCSO from Swindon has won silver at the para-bobsleigh World Cup.
Corie Mapp took second place after Thursday's two runs at Innsbruck in Austria - losing out on gold by less than a quarter of a second.
He currently sits third in the overall classification and is within a real shot of a podium.
Corie lost both his legs whilst serving with the army in Afghanistan in 2010.
He was serving with The Life Guards, when his armoured vehicle drove over a concealed Improvised Explosive Device.
He recovered consciousness two weeks later in Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham.
Following the incident, he had lost both his legs below the knee and suffered other serious injuries.
Now a PCSO with Wiltshire Police, he has gone on to become a world para-bobsleigh champion and is hoping to compete at the next Winter Olympics, in Italy in 2026.
Reacting to the news of Corie's second place finish, the office of Wiltshire & Swindon's Police and Crime Commissioner said: "Huge congratulations to Swindon Police PCSO [Corie Mapp] after winning [silver] at the IBSF para sport Bobsleigh World Cup in Innsbruck.
"A true inspiration.
"Looking forward to Lillehammer!"
Meanwhile, the Swindon Town FC Community Foundation also tweeted: "Congratulations [Corie Mapp] on another amazing achievement.
"We can't wait to see your medal when you return to Swindon. #ProudToBeSwindon"
