MOST of Havelock Square was closed to pedestrians after strong winds blew a panel off the side of the Brunel Shopping Centre.
A police cordon stretched along all sides of the square's statue as firefighters removed the damaged panel which fell between Poundland and Triple Two Coffee earlier today.
Iceland and Poundland closed while officers directed surprised shoppers away from the area.
