A tired-looking bridge has been given a new lease of life following intervention from a parish councillior.
The Rodbourne Green Bridge has been recently refurbished by Central Swindon North Parish Council, who are delighted with the results.
The paint was provided by Councillor James Yeowell, allocated from the Councillor’s Small Project Ward Allowance in November 2021.
Chair of the community wellbeing committee and parish councillor James Yeowell had this to say about the project:
“Following the retiring of the nearby bridge, the Parish Council recognised the important link this bridge provides for local residents over the River Ray.
"As this is now the main footbridge in this area of Ferndale, I thought it would be a good idea to repaint the railings and improve the appearance of the area for residents to enjoy.
"Special thanks to the in-house team, the Allotments Officer and the Grounds, Landscape & Maintenance Officer did a fantastic job”.
