TWO MORE people have admitted threatening others after a brawl at a Wetherspoons pub in Swindon.
Luke Russell Scott-Browne and Harry Matthew Salter both admitting being involved in a violent disorder at the Dockle Farmhouse on Friday, July 17, 2020.
They are the fourth and fifth people to admit involvement in the fight, after three others pleaded guilty at a hearing earlier this month.
At the same hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday morning, one of their co-defendants denied the charge.
Scott-Browne and Salter pleaded guilty to using or threatening unlawful violence when present together with others being three or more person in total, who used or threatened unlawful violence, and the conduct taken together was such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for his or hear personal safety.
Meanwhile, Scott-Browne, 20 of Edale Moor, also pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place – namely a large knife.
Salter, aged 21 from Treecastle Road, and Scott-Browne, had their cases adjourned for sentencing.
Addressing the duo, Judge James Townsend said: “You will be sentenced for this, we don’t know the date.
“You must keep in touch with your lawyers. In the meantime, the probation service will get in touch with you. It is very important that you co-operate with them.
“You will be released on bail as before, under a duty to attend the court on a date your lawyers tell you to attend.”
They will appear at a date to be fixed in the future, alongside the three defendants who pleaded guilty on February 11. They are:
- Joe Alexander Cole, aged 19 of Pheasant Close, Covingham
- Daiziel Hylton, aged 19 of Pheasant Close, Covingham
- James Joseph Quick, aged 18 of Elmore, Eldene
Meanwhile, a sixth defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge of violent disorder.
Gareth Michael Timothy Sutherland, aged 19 of Drove Road, denied the charge at the court.
The case has been adjourned for three weeks, where the case will be mentioned. He was excused attendance.
And a seventh defendant was not arraigned on Friday after he did not have legal representation.
The court heard that a legal aid application for Nathan Holmes, of Truman Close, Eldene, had been delayed.
He was not required to enter pleas and instead will next appear before the same court in three weeks time.
All defendants have been released on bail.
Scores of police officers were called to the Dockle on July 17, 2020 to reports of a large disorder, said to involve around 20 people.
At least one person suffered injuries, with an 18-year-old man taken to Great Western Hospital.
