ROADWORKS on the A419 and M4 could cause delays for motorists in the next few days.

A new road closure will be put in place on the A419 northbound at the turnpike junction to Cricklade.

The whole road will close from 8pm on March 14 to 6am on March 19 in order to have verge scraping and ditching carried out.

Drivers travelling to this part of the busy stretch of the dual carriageway can expect to add up to 30 minutes to their journey.

Meanwhile, three other roadwork projects are continuing.

Works undertaken on behalf of Swindon Borough Council along the A419 northbound at the A420 junction will last until 6am on March 16.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

The A419 in both directions from junction 15 of the M4 to Commonhead roundabout is a diversion route for roadworks involving Conlon Ltd and Instalcom for Bellway Development until 5pm on April 1.

Lanes in both directions of the M4 will be closed between junctions 15 and 16 for barrier works until 6am May 21.
