A WEDDING dress shop in Old Town has changed its window display to show support for Ukraine.
People passing Trousseaux Bridal on Devizes Road noticed the striking new blue and yellow outfits which had been added to the models, and the vases full of sunflowers - a flower which has been used as a symbol of peace throughout the country's history.
A photo of the nice gesture which was shared on Facebook received hundreds of likes and other positive reactions.
Shop co-owner Vicky Crocker told the Adver: "I can't believe the response it's had, it was only put up yesterday.
"What's happening in Ukraine is so sad, we all feel absolute despair about it and want to help and raise awareness. A physical reminder makes it stick in the memory more.
"I've been talking about the crisis with our customers, who say it's strange to think that while they're trying on wedding dresses and preparing to celebrate, people are suffering and hiding.
"It's quite worrying - where will it go from here? But I love that Swindon has pulled together to help, with no judgements, it's unbelievable.
"I'm hoping to add one more thing to the display that will be quite striking, so keep your eyes peeled."
