TWO new road closures will be carried out on parts of the A419 within the next two weeks.

Severe delays of more than 30 minutes will be caused by the turnpike junction to Cricklade on the northbound carriageway being closed from 8pm on March 14 to 6am March 19 for verge scraping and ditching works.

A different section of the northbound carriageway - the A420 junction to the turnpike - will be closed from 8pm on March 21 to 6am on March 25 for work to be carried out on the A420 as part of the New Eastern Villages preparation. This is expected to cause delays of 10 to 30 minutes.

Ongoing roadworks will continue, such as the lane closures eastbound and westbound between junction and 16 of the M4 for barrier works, which will take place until 6am on May 21, causing slight delays of less than 10 minutes.

The 50mph speed limit on part of the A419 northbound at the A420 junction will continue until 6am on March 16 while New Eastern Villages-related work is carried out.

A diversion route for developer works involving Conlon Ltd and Instalcom for Bellway Development will be in place in both directions of the A419from junction 15 of the M4  t Commonhead roundabout until 5pm on April 1.
