QUEUES of congested vehicles have stretched in all directions from two of Swindon's busiest junctions as roadworks in those areas continue.
Motorists have been brought to a standstill along Devizes Road heading back to the Victoria Road mini-roundabout and along Newport Street down to the junction with the B4006 as two-way traffic lights direct the flow of cars and lorries.
This work by Swindon Borough Council is for the complete refurbishment of dual pedestrian crossings on both Devizes Road and Newport Street. It will continue until 3.30pm on Wednesday. It started at 9.30am on March 9.
Four-way traffic lights have clogged up Bridge End Road, Ermin Street, Grange Drive and Swindon Road due to works by Wales and West Utilities. This began on January 24 at 2pm and will continue until just before midnight on Friday evening.
