Passengers using bus services in and out of Swindon are facing delays this morning.

Stagecoach is facing a shortage of drivers with a number off sick.  

As a result, several bus services will not be running today.

The S7, Swindon to Highworth has been hit the hardest, with many services being cancelled.

Below is a list of services that have been cancelled on the S7 route.

Swindon

Highworth

There is also disruption on S9 and S10 routes which serve Fleming Way and Swindon Bus station.

The 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 15:40 and 17:00 S9 services from Fleming Way will not run, whilst the 11:05, 14:05, 14:45, 16:05 and 18:05 will not run from the bus station.

On the same route (S10), the following services from Fleming Way and the bus station are cancelled.

On the S6 route from Swindon-Faringdon, the 11:15 service has been cancelled, with the 11:57 return also being a causality.

 

Lastly, there are hardly any services on the S55 route from Swindon to Chippenham with the 09:35, 12:05, 13:05, 14:05, 14:20, 15:05, 15:20 and the 17:30 all being cancelled.

Rachel Geliamassi, Managing Director at Stagecoach West, said: “We apologise to customers in Swindon that have been inconvenienced by disruption to some of our routes.

"We are experiencing some service cancellations because of driver sickness caused by COVID-19.

“We have put in place several measures which we expect to help deliver a more reliable service in the weeks ahead.

"As well as drafting in resources from other depots, we are busy recruiting a new team of drivers who will shortly complete their training programme.

“Despite the challenges, we are continuing to run all essential services including school, college, and low frequency routes. We will continue to keep customers updated through our app and Twitter to help them plan their journeys.”
