Swindon's Designer Outlet recently announced seven new stores will be opening this year, but there are still several units that will remain empty.

The news came after the new adidas shop opened at the end of March.

Centre manager Tina Cumpstey previously told the Adver: "We believe the new store is going to be a great addition to our centre moving forward, not only due to their great expertise in fitness and sports, but also due to their sustainability mission to help end plastic waste, which aligns with our brand's environmental goals.”

Although the opening of the store was a huge success, the centre has also had to say goodbye to several stores in the past few years.

These include the Build-a-Bear workshop, Fiorelli and Daniel's Footwear.

Most of the empty shops are covered with advertisements for the outlet centre or shops or restaurants within the centre, such as Wagamama and YO! Sushi.

Out of the 84 shopfronts in the Outlet, 15 were empty when the Adver visited this week.

All areas within the food court are currently occupied. The available units are scattered around the rest of the centre.
