Lydiard Park was home to an Easter hunt with a difference this bank holiday weekend thanks to the efforts of one kind lady.
Leanne Bull, 41, from Royal Wootton Bassett, is a member of the Rocks of Swindon Facebook community, where people across Swindon paint rocks and then hide them in and around the town for others to find.
Every year she paints rocks with children's names on and she hides them in the community for families to search for the rocks and hopefully find their own names and this year's effort was the biggest yet.
"I started doing it after finding a rock and thought I’d like to make people smile," she said.
"Along the way my drawing skills have improved and the joy of seeing people young and old find them is what motivated me to carry on doing them.
"It’s a small kindness act to brighten someone else day."
Leanne had spent many hours painting and decorating over 400 personalised rocks with materials and paint out of her own pocket prior to the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
On the evening of Good Friday, her and a team of helpers, including her friend's children Sophie, 11, Alfie, 8, Leiarna, 7 and Jaxon, 3, spent two hours hiding them.
The next day the Rocks of Swindon Facebook group was full of families visiting Lydiard to hunt for rocks with their names on.
Many wanted to donate money towards Leanne's costs or contribute to charity in her name, but for Leanne, seeing people enjoying her work was reward enough.
"My rock painting isn't done to make money for charity, although a lovely idea, I don’t want people to feel they have to give money to take part," she said.
Laura Butler and her family were just one of the many who enjoyed searching for the rocks over the sunny weekend.
"Leanne is amazing for painting so many children's named rocks and then hiding them all around Lydiard," she said.
"My two children loved hunting for the named rocks we requested. We were really lucky to find the Joey rock. My little boy aged 5 was so happy. It got us all out for some exercise and we had a really fun time as a family hunting for the rocks too."
"It’s so lovely to see so many families out on the hunt for names," Leanne added.
