Wildlife rescue centre RSPCA Oak and Furrows is asking for people to donate birdseed to deal with an influx of chicks.
"Good afternoon everyone! The baby birds patients are flooding in thick and fast! We are putting out an appeal for bulk bags of birdseed to keep our larger babies and adults going." the charity said in a post on Facebook.
The organisation added that any mixed wild bird seed is fine because they mix it up and match it so that the birds get a good variety.
"There are plenty of options on Amazon or if you have any to hand you would like to donate, we are open every day between 9 and 5. Please bring food donations into the reception area."
Baby chicks will eat approximately 1-2 ounces of feed a day for the first 8 weeks. That comes out to 3/4 to one pound of feed a week.
