Choirs, dancers, actors and musicians in Malmesbury are coming together in a special Concert for Ukraine in Malmesbury Abbey.
The idea is the brainchild of two teachers, Debbie Cambray-Smith and Sally l'Anson. Among the performers are Athelstan Players, members of Malmesbury Concert Band, Minety Dance, Revolution Performing Arts, St Joseph's Catholic Primary School Choir, The Minuettes and a special performance by guests from Ukraine.
All proceeds from the bar, concert and a special Just Giving account will go to purchasing and delivering much needed protective equipment to support medical and other emergency teams working on the frontline to help Ukrainian civilians under fire.
"Sally and I are excited to be involved in presenting this concert to support Ukraine. It has been very rewarding to organise as everyone has been so keen to take part, whether performing or supporting, and are giving their time and talent for free. It promises to be a wonderful afternoon of music, dance and drama." said Debbie.
The duo is working closely with the Malmesbury Stands with Ukraine Steering Group convened by the town's Deputy Mayor and Wiltshire Councillor, Gavin Grant.
The Concert for Ukraine takes place at 3pm on Saturday, June 18 in Malmesbury Abbey.
There is no set admission charge, but donations can be made on the door or to their Just Giving page.
