DOGS, ships and trains are just a few of the subjects featured in a new art exhibition.
Lawn Art Group was set up a year ago after artist Debbie Tubb decided she wanted to give something back to the community.
And judging by the group's exhibition at Inkspot arts and crafts centre, her tutelage has certainly paid off.
The group has been running for almost a year and has become so popular there is a waiting list to join.
"I was so impressed with the volunteers that run the Lawn Community Centre and the activities they offer that I wanted to offer something for the community as well," said Debbie.
"It is such a fun group and a real pleasure to teach. I would like to thank Annie and her staff at Inkspot for allowing us to exhibit the paintings. Everyone's worked so hard and I am proud of all their achievements."
The group's students are mostly retired and work part time.
Lawn resident Eric Roberts, 64, heard about the class through an advertisement in the Adver.
He said: " I found out about the class and called Debbie to see if I could join in. It's really good fun and quite impressive to have your work displayed. Debbie has been great and is always encouraging everyone."
Ken Strange, 60, from Haydon Wick is another class member who enjoys his time in the group. He was introduced to the classes by former work colleague Clive Alexander, 64.
"I remember thinking my painting wasn't all that good but when it was framed and all ready it looked so much better," said Ken.
Clive said: "I enjoy my time in the group. It's a nice fellowship.
"At the end of the day, it's all about encouraging people to have a go themselves."
Joyce Healey, who is retired and lives in Marlborough Road, is another fan of the club.
"I love the classes," she said. "They're so relaxing and it's quite a nice social group. Someone introduced me to the group at my old group at the Art Centre.
"It's so much nicer here and it's been a positive experience for me."
The group meets every Tuesday morning and each session costs £2 if you pay in advance or £3 if you want to become a casual member.
The fee includes coffee and biscuits.
Any artists or art societies wishing to exhibit at Inkspot, in Edgware Road, should contact Annie on 01793 537775.
The exhibition at Inkspot runs until the end of next month.
