A GARDEN centre is inviting Swindon's green-fingered folk to trade in their old gardening tools for new ones this month to help people farm the land and grow food in Africa.
Blooms Garden Centre in Hay Lane, Wroughton, is asking gardeners to assist with its Garden Tool Amnesty running from Saturday to Sunday, February 24, in aid of the international charity Feed the Children.
Garden centre manager Darren Mogg said: "We will give anyone who brings in their old gardening tools during the week a 20 per cent off voucher to redeem against any new gardening tools from our Wilkinson Sword, Yeoman or Vintage ranges.
"The initiative applies only to what we deem as traditional tools such as trowels, spades, hand and garden forks, hoes, good old fashioned garden rakes, not lawn rakes, and not power tools."
