PLANS for Marlborough to be seen as a market town of culture have been boosted by a grant from Kennet District Council and a local web company.
We Love Marlborough aims to show off the town's arts and cultural events in July, and create more, particularly for families.
It even hopes to give current European City of Culture Liverpool a run for its money.
Kennet District Council awarded We Love Marlborough £3,000 to turn www.welovemarlborough.co.uk into the place to find out about July in the town.
It's also a chance for organisers of events to network online. The new website will be online by the end of next month. It is being built by local web and video company Mole Productions.

We Love Marlborough, which is supported by Kennet Valley Arts Trust, came from an idea by Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, arts development agency Open to Arts and Secret Agent Marketing.
It was inspired by the potential benefits to both the cultural life of the town and its businesses.
Offline, We Love Marlborough networking events are bringing the different arts and cultural organisations in Marlborough together and show off the facilities on offer in the town.
People from Marlborough Jazz Festival, Marlborough Open Studios, St Peter's Church, Morgan Boyce Gallery and Marlborough Players are among those already involved.
The next networking event is on Tuesday at St Peter's Church at 5.30pm.
Anyone wishing to attend, whether they are organising or have an idea for an event in July, should email hello@welovemarlborough.co.uk or call 01672 811515.
Peter Davison, president of Marlborough Chamber of Commerce, is delighted with the grant.
He said. "This website will help the town enormously.
"We Love Marlborough is a new initiative inspired by the European City of Culture idea and why should cities have all the fun?
"There is so much going on in Marlborough in July that we felt it needed to be shouted about. Kennet District Council obviously felt the same."
